If you use Surya Brasil Henna Powder, which has a natural red base, you may notice red or golden tones in your new color. Henna is known for its natural properties that can result in subtle red hues, depending on your hair color and condition.

If you use Surya Brasil Henna Cream, the result will depend on the shade you choose. We offer 15 vibrant shades, ranging from the lightest blondes to the deepest browns and blacks. If you select one of our red-toned shades, you will likely see red tones in your final result.

It’s important to remember that the outcome may vary depending on your current hair color and its condition, as henna interacts differently with different hair types. For best results, we recommend referring to our color chart and conducting a strand test before applying the product.

Our henna should be applied to clean, towel-dried hair that is free from styling product build-up for optimal results. We recommend shampooing your hair thoroughly before applying our henna colors.

The amount of product needed depends on the length and thickness of your hair. For long, thick hair that reaches down to your mid-back, you may require 2-4 boxes of Surya Brasil Henna Powder or 1-2.5 bottles of Surya Brasil Henna Cream.

Surya Brasil Henna Creams and Powders are specifically designed to cover gray hair. If you have a higher percentage of gray (50% or more), you may need to leave the henna on longer and apply it more frequently for optimal results.

Surya Brasil Henna Powders are 100% plant-based and provide long-lasting color, typically lasting 20-30 washes. In comparison, Surya Brasil Henna Creams offer a more convenient, ready-to-use option and last up to 10-12 washes.

The longevity of your color can vary depending on how often you wash your hair and the products you use. Traditional shampoos containing sodium lauryl sulfate can strip color more quickly. To help maintain your color for longer, we recommend using Surya Brasil Color Fixation Shampoo, Conditioner, and Mask.

Our hennas should be applied to freshly shampooed hair without using a conditioner. We recommend washing your hair 2-3 times to ensure your scalp is thoroughly clean and ready for application.

If you don’t use the entire bottle during your application, the remaining product can be stored for future use. To preserve its quality, ensure the bottle is tightly sealed and store it in a cool, dark place for up to one month.

Our Henna Creams can be mixed to help you achieve your desired color. However, we strongly recommend performing a strand test before applying the mixture to your entire head, particularly if you’re not a professional colorist.

Due to the inherent properties of lawsone and its red-orange pigment, combined with various factors such as application time, hair porosity, hair texture, and the presence of other natural ingredients, henna hair coloring can result in undertones or hues ranging from reddish-orange to deep auburn.

Lawsone’s small molecular structure allows it to penetrate the outer layers of the hair shaft, adhering without altering the hair’s natural structure.
